Coffee Cat serves frozen yogurt as well

Red Mango, meet Cebu's Coffee Cat.

My friends told me that I must try the yogurt or yogo. Ironically, this coffee shop is known for it's frozen yogurt. So, i was wondering "why the yogo not the coffee."

Coffee Cat is situated in IT Park, Cebu. few blocks away from The Walk.

When we arrived, "it's like Starbucks for the first time," no seat available.  People, young and old, gathered having yogo and coffee, and some with their laptops. I was also fascinated with their cakes but my friends told me that it's not lami (delicious). I ordered one hot cafe mocha and one large original flavored yogo with 2 toppings, that i would be sharing with my little bro. For our toppings, I chose Oreo cookies and my bro was mango. Here's my fave part.. the taste!! yogo tasted like manila's Red Mango. the coffee was not your ordinary coffee. It wasn't Starbucks but it's goooood.  As may li'l Bro had said, "may sipa!"

JapaNice Dinner at Nonki

Nonki Japanese Restaurant located in Bakilid, Mandaue City, Cebu.

When I was standing outside the restaurant, my first impression was "dito ba talaga? bakit parang hindi restaurant"  but when I slide the door to open, I was "wow." I never been in a Japanese restaurant like this. I love the interior design! Tables are divided with Japanese style divider.  As I go in to our private cubicle, I thought we will be sitting in seiza style in a flat cushion. but there's a space below our table so that we can seat naturally.

The food were the same as the other Japanese restaurant I've been.  Except that the Uni Sashimi here has more serving than the other.
Tempura Vegetable (potato, Carrots)
Salmon Sashimi
Big bowl of Miso Ramen
Gyudon served with misi soup
Oyakodon served with miso soup
Yakisoba

Brunch at LemonGrass

After our facial cleaning at Belo, Ayala Center Cebu (ACC), my sister and I decided to have our lunch or brunch (breakfast-lunch) in ACC.  Achi suggested to eat Chinese cuisine, but there's only two Chinese fine restaurant in ACC; the BIG MAO and TSIM SHA TSUI. But I had bad experience in both restaurant...

Flash Back
at BIG MAO. I ordered steamed rice but it taste like microwaved rice. medyo dry na ang ibabaw ng kanin.  same goes to my steamed fish.  I also did not enjoy the tofu.

at TSIM SHA TSUI. Despite of their "eat all you can dimsum," you can only eat few or selected dimsum in the menu. And the taste? It's taste like DimSum Break (fast food chain) but their price is more expensive and location is more fine.

So, I suggested Lemongrass, Vietnamese and Thai Cuisine. I love the theme of the place.   We enjoyed the company of each other. Both of us were hungry. And we like the food. It's not fancy or special but we love it.
Our Brunch...
Gui Cuon, carrots + crab meat + cucumber + Chinese parsley  wrapped in a thin rice wrapper served with peanut sauce
Pho Bo or Beef noodle soup
Steamed fish with lemon (small serving)
Stir fry vegetables (we like this)
2 jasmine Rice
Citrus Herb Lemonade

Craving for Fish n Chips

Yesterday, I was craving for a classic "fish n chips" or rather "fish and rice".

As in I want.. I want.. I want.. I want.., haha!!

Anyway, Da was kind enough at sinamahan ako sa Trinoma and kumain sa  Fish&Co..

I had my Fish and rice, yey! We also ordered shrimp with creamy mushroom sauce pasta dahil bitin ang isang fish&rice sa aming dalawa, plus strawberry lemonade (for Da) and strawberry ice tea (for me).

In the end, Satisfied!!! Even Da likes it... lucky him, I wasn't selfish!

We were served nicely and politely. Pati Manager nila was nice to us. Sobrang importante kasi sa akin ang good customer service.

4 plates on our table. All are dirty with black thingy
Here's the booo part, dinner plates are already on the table. But it seems like they haven't checked it for a week. Hope the dishes that they served to us were clean though.. so far tummy is ok!

Disappointing; Amorita Beach Resort

Amorita Beach Resort
Panglao Island, Bohol
Summer 2010

"Amorita is Bohol's 'beloved' (or 'little love').  Nestled atop a seaside cliff at the north-eastern end of the famed Alona beach in Panglao Island, Amorita treats every guest with a breathtaking 180-degree view of the Bohol Sea." (http://www.amoritaresort.com/)

The view of the beach from seaside cliff is truly a breathtaking . One of the most beautiful and cleanest resort I've seen.  When we arrived in the resort our first impression was "worth na mapunta ang ipon ko dito."

We arrived one hour early from check-in time. What bothered me then was pinabayad niya kami agad, as in full payment. but then again, the resort was so beautiful.  We checked-in exactly 2pm  the room was luxurious with our own private mini pool.

We waited for hours. And the Food manager, Bong, decided to feed us first and attend to the money matter later. They served us chicken soup (na lasang "lucky me" that's how my sister describe it), with our own choice of main course meal.  I wasn't impressed with the food. Mainit na ang ulo kaya I really didn't appreciate the foods, nothing like the food in the Bee Farm.  I kept reminding myself or rather Da kept reminding ourselves that we're on our vacation. enjoy. enjoy. enjoy.  After Dinner, Bong told us that he'll take care of the bill for a meantime.  But around 11pm, a waiter woke us up (yes, we slept early) to give us our bill!!

The next day, we talked to Bong and he apologized and explained that he clearly ordered his waiter about our bill. Then, he told us that the meals we paid for or included in our package was one meal/pax.  and the sales person we talked to on the phone for our reservation was no longer part of their company. It was so devastating, we confirmed our stay one week ahead and assure our meals. Dapat kasi wala na kami iintindihin na payments, but then.. Haay.  He explained to us nicely that the management decided that we need to pay for the food we ate the night before, for it was not included in our package.  In return, he offered us free kayaking, or biking; but we're not into it.

Sobrang panget pa ng service ng reception.. i mean, we call for a water and ni isa walang dumating. We even called twice! Para sa akin, ang lakas ng loob nilang singilin kami ng full ng wala pa kaming nakikita na facilities or good service, tapos wala pala silang maipapakita.

Lesson learned: hindi dahil expensive and look luxurious, maganda.

Overall
Rooms/Facilities:  Satisfactory
Food:  Fair
Service:  Poor
Value for Money:  Poor

Bohol Bee Farm Restaurant

CHOCOLATE HILLS, Bohol
First time ko pumunta.

So we booked overnight!

  • Camote rice and Camote bread
  • Buko Pasta
  • Malunggay Ice cream at Ginger Ice Cream; lasang green tea na minty flavor
  • 500php bawat isang tao.
